Cut the paper bag or paper towel to the size of the spill. Blot with a clean white cloth. Place more ice cubes on the spot to harden remaining wax and pry it up with the knife. Press an iron set on high over the towel for 10 seconds.

Heat an iron to a medium setting with no steam and press the iron to the paper bag directly over the wax. Remove the plastic bag and begin to scrape the wax off the carpet using a dull knife. Cover the spill with the paper towel or bag and rub the warm iron over it. Don t let the iron get too hot or it could melt the carpet or burn the paper.

It s important to remove candle wax from your carpet as soon as you notice it. Run a warm iron over the paper or cloth to heat the wax. Dampen a white cotton towel fold it in half and place it over the wax. Stop as soon as you begin to see wax seep into the paper.

Next lay either a brown paper bag or a clean cloth directly over the affected area of your carpet. Rub gently to melt and remove some of the wax and then reposition the bag to soak up more wax. Change to a clean paper and repeat until you don t get any more up. There is probably still some remaining wax that has now melted so scrape it away with the dull edge of the knife.

The heat will draw the wax out of the carpet and into the towel. Now onto the carpet cleaning. Keep your towel or bag in a manageable size because you will be moving it around a bit. Get any remaining bits of wax or dye stains out of the rug with a commercial cleaning solution or rubbing alcohol.

The freeze and pick method. There are generally two options when it comes to cleaning up candle wax. If you end up melting your carpet you will have more to worry about than a little wax spilled on it. This is the easiest method for removing any solid stain from the carpet and it works especially great with candle wax.

Repeat until the wax is gone you may have to hold the iron in place for up to 30 seconds. Allow the wax to freeze for about 10 minutes making sure that the wax isn t getting wet from your ice pack. Place a piece of the brown paper bag over the candle wax spill. Continue ironing until all of the wax is soaked up and clean the area with a carpet solvent.

Using a warm iron slowly press the iron on top of the paper bag or cloth. A paper bag over the wax stain. Spread a clean terry cloth or brown paper e g. Start by placing a plastic bag of ice or an ice pack on top of the spot.
