If stubborn stains persist you can use a diluted chlorine bleach soap mixture for spot cleaning of mildew roof run off and other similar stains. Depending on your awning material you will need to use different cleaning solutions. Once the awning is dried you can leave it alone until the next cleaning. Prepare a special cleaning mixture.

Two ounces one fourth cup of natural soap. This detergent is especially effective if you decide to wash the awning fabric in a washing machine. Then leave the awning open and spread out to let it air dry completely. To clean metal awnings use a metal cleaning solvent and water.
